On November 7 and 8, 2024, the Utah Office of Tourism Sales Mission, organized by Target Travel Marketing, took place. The event took place in Brussels and Amsterdam and attracted great interest from USA travel industry specialists. With the presence of several partners, it provided a unique opportunity to highlight the diversity of the state of Utah to tour operators and media.
Speed dating sessions
During the mission, the delegation, consisting of two Utah Office of Tourism representatives and six partners, came to Benelux. In Brussels, they met with seven enthusiastic tour operators and two key media. In Amsterdam, as many as 12 tour operators and four media partners were present for informative speed dating sessions.
During the sessions, the tour operators received extensive information in 15 minutes about everything Utah has to offer: from the beautiful landscapes in Zion and Bryce to the cultural attractions of Salt Lake City and Kanab. New itineraries and tourism developments in the region were also discussed.
Special guests
The event was given an extra special touch by the presence of special guests. During lunch in Belgium, the US Ambassador Mr. Michael J. Adler joined the group, and in the Netherlands, dinner was attended by the US Consul General, Mrs. Kate Nanavatty. During the talks, the current situation around tourism between the two countries was discussed.
Closing by the canals of Amsterdam
The sales mission concluded in style with a dinner cruise through Amsterdam’s canals. The representatives and tour operators enjoyed a pleasant evening, delicious food and a beautiful view of the illuminated canals. The closing dinner provided an unforgettable experience and underlined the successful launch of the new cooperation.
