From May 25–29, Target Travel Marketing participated in Rendez-vous Canada (RVC), Canada’s premier international tourism marketplace, held this year in Toronto, Ontario. Bringing together tourism suppliers from across Canada and international travel buyers from around the world, RVC remains one of the most important annual events for building partnerships and driving inbound tourism to Canada.
Representing Worldwide Campers, Vivien attended the event, taking part in a packed schedule of networking opportunities, destination experiences, and business meetings.
Visit Canada Benelux Get-Together
Ahead of the official opening of Rendez-vous Canada, the first-ever Visit Canada Benelux Get Together took place on May 25 at the Union Hotel Toronto. Approximately 35 attendees, including Canadian tourism partners and Benelux tour operators, gathered for an informal networking event designed to strengthen relationships within the Benelux market.
The afternoon began with a site inspection of the Union Hotel for attending tour operators. The visit was followed by a welcome toast and opening remarks from Wolfgang Hendrix, Chairman of the Visit Canada Benelux foundation. The group enjoyed drinks and bites, sponsored by Destination Toronto, while reconnecting with industry colleagues and establishing new contacts. Target Travel Marketing holds the secretary office for the foundation.
“Visit Canada in the Benelux has been growing strongly over the last years. The cooperation between the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg is excellent, and the interest in Canada keeps increasing. We see it every day with consumers, travel agents, media and tour operators.” – Wolfgang Hendrix
Exploring Toronto and Opening Reception at the CN Tower
The following day, delegates participated in a variety of city tours showcasing Toronto’s diverse neighborhoods, attractions, and tourism experiences. The day concluded with the official RVC opening event, held at Toronto’s iconic CN Tower. With views over the city skyline and Lake Ontario, the venue provided a memorable backdrop for the start of RVC.
65 Meetings in 3 days
The Marketplace took place at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. Throughout the event, Vivien completed 65 one-on-one appointments with Canadian tourism partners, destinations, attractions, and experience providers. The meetings provided valuable opportunities to discuss market trends, identify new partnership opportunities, and explore innovative products and experiences for Worldwide Campers.
One notable trend throughout RVC 2026 was the strong presence of first-time attendees from the Benelux market. The Benelux delegation consisted of 25 travel professionals. Conversations during the event suggested growing interest in Canada as a travel destination, potentially influenced by shifting traveler preferences. As more Dutch and Belgian travelers seek alternative North American experiences, Canada continues to gain popularity thanks to its welcoming reputation, diverse landscapes, and strong focus on indigenous and sustainable tourism.
Post RVC
Following the conclusion of RVC, Vivien joined a post-familiarization trip through Quebec. The itinerary included visits to Gananoque, the stunning 1000 Islands region, Ottawa, and Montreal, providing firsthand experience of Canada’s hospitality and some of Eastern Canada’s most stunning tourism offerings.
Rendez-vous Canada 2026 proved to be an essential platform for connecting with industry partners, discovering new tourism products, and strengthening Canada’s presence within the Benelux travel market.
