From February 5 to 7, the first edition of Vakantie Festival took place at the Brabanthallen in ’s-Hertogenbosch. This new consumer travel show introduced a fresh concept, with atmosphere, experience, and interaction at its core. For this inaugural edition, Target Travel Marketing introduced the ‘USA Street’: a collaboration between several U.S. partners, including Alamo.nl/Worldwide Campers, Condor, St. Pete-Clearwater, Visit Kansas City/Visit Missouri, and Visit USA The Netherlands.
Visit USA: FIFA World Cup in the spotlight
The Visit USA The Netherlands stand served as a central information point within the Adventure & Discovery themed area. The USA experts present guided visitors through possible routes, answered a wide range of questions, and showcased what the United States has to offer as a holiday destination. For younger visitors, there was also the opportunity to kick a ball around, a chance that some adults were happy to take as well.
On a road trip with Alamo.nl and Worldwide Campers
Alamo.nl and Worldwide Campers were also present at Vakantie Festival. Here, visitors discussed different types of rental cars, road trip possibilities, and practical questions related to car hire and motorhome travel.
Visit Kansas City concludes sales mission at Vakantie Festival
For Visit Kansas City and Visit Missouri, Vakantie Festival marked the final stop of their sales mission in the Netherlands. Following earlier trade and media appointments, the event offered an excellent opportunity to engage directly with consumers. The focus was clearly on what Kansas City has to offer beyond the soccer fan zones, including culture, jazz music, outstanding BBQ, and the iconic Route 66 road trip.
A promising start with an eye on the future
The first edition of Vakantie Festival demonstrated the strong potential of this new event concept. The combination of an inviting atmosphere, opportunities for interaction, and a clear thematic layout created a platform to reach visitors in an inspiring and personal way. Both visitors and participants responded enthusiastically and see great potential for the years to come.
